Pirates receive commitment from in-state running backHairston pledges to play for East Carolina
East Carolina received its tenth commitment for 2011 when Winston-Salem Parkland running back Chris Hairston announced he will play his college football for the Pirates. Hairston, who also holds an offer from Wisconsin, rushed for over 1,000 yards as a junior. He possesses a great combination of speed and size.
Hairston cited the coaching staff, campus and fan support as factors that influenced him to make the decision to spend his college years in Greenville. He also likes the role that running backs play in the spread offense Ruffin McNeill and staff are bringing to East Carolina from Texas Tech.
