The most intriguing clash in week seven of the C-USA slate can only be one game: Central Florida at Southern Methodist in a rematch of last year's C-USA Championship Game. The other four matchups in the league in week seven are mismatches. UCF-SMU, though, is a five-star throwdown matching the Golden Knights' rugged defense, especially its lockdown secondary, against SMU's spread passing attack. This deserves to be seen as the game of the year in the league, with the Houston-SMU clash getting second billing. Central Florida limited Marshall to just a 2-of-14 conversion rate on third downs last week while also snagging three interceptions. SMU's offense is far better than Marshall's, but UCF might have found the defensive groove it needs to stand tall against the Ponies. Florida-based defense against Texas-rooted offense.
