Breaking News! UTEP basketball loses two players

EL PASO, TX – UTEP head basketball coach Tony Barbee announced that guards Vernon Carr and Xavier Dawson have left the Miner basketball program.

“Vernon and Xavier have decided to explore other options for continuing their basketball careers,” Barbee said in this morning’s news release. “We wish them success in all their future endeavors.

Carr, a sophomore from Detroit, Michigan, appeared in 14 total games for the Miners over the last two seasons because of recurring injuries. Dawson was a new recruit to the Miner basketball program. He played at Miami Dade College for two years, and was recruited to spark the offensive side of the team.
