Conference USA (C-USA) Football Championship
2010 marks the 6th year of the "new look" for Conference USA and is also the 6th year for the Conference USA Football Championship Game. After playing nine years where the regular season winner(s) took home the crown as the champions of C-USA, 2005 saw Tulsa defeat UCF 44-27 in the innagural Conference USA Football Championship Game held in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The 2006 C-USA Football Championship Game was held in Houston, Texas where the host Houston Cougars defeated Southern Miss Golden Eagles 34-20. 2007 featured a rematch of the 2005 C-USA Championship Game as Tulsa and UCF again faced off with the UCF Knights coming away with the Conference USA Championship and the right to play in the Liberty Bowl. In 2008 Tulsa made their 3rd appearance in 4 years in the C-USA Championship Game, but the Pirates of East Carolina knocked off Tulsa 27-24.
