Diamond Pirates ranked No. 25 by Baseball America and NCBWAEast Carolina moves up in polls after 3-1 week
After concluding its regular season with a sweep of Tulane, East Carolina moved up in one poll and into another when the new rankings were released on Monday. The Pirates (37-18, 14-10), who earned the No. 3 seed for this week's CUSA Tourney, have won eight of their last nine. They rose from No. 30 to No. 25 in this week's NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) Poll while also sneaking into Baseball America's Top 25 for the first time at 25th. ECU would be ranked 32nd according to the number of points it received in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
The pool opposite the Pirates features No. 1 Rice, No. 4 UCF, No. 5 Memphis and No. 8 UAB. The pool champions will meet in a winner-take-all title game on Saturday at 8 p.m. Check back with CUSA-fans.com for tournament coverage.
