UCF Names Joi Williams-Felton as New Women's Basketball Coach
Former Murray State coach becomes the 11th coach in the history of UCF Women's Basketball
UCF athletic director Keith Tribble announced Joi Williams-Felton as the Golden Knights’ new women’s basketball coach on Thursday. Williams-Felton, who is UCF’s 11th coach in its history, will succeed Gail Striegler. Striegler stepped down on March 5th.
Williams-Felton comes to Orlando from Murray State where she led Racers to the NIT and to their first 20-win season in almost twenty years.

Williams-Felton played college ball at USF in Tampa and brings a wealth of collegiate coaching experience to UCF.
Williams-Felton replaces Striegler, who was unable to make a smooth transition to Conference USA from the Atlantic Sun.
Williams-Felton was 54-61 during her time at the helm at Murray State. She leaves the Racers after leading them to one of the most successful seasons in their school history.
William-Felton was an assistant at the University of Florida under former head coach Carol Ross (now at her Alma Mater Ole Miss.) Joi obtained her current position at Murray State in 2003.
There is yet to be any update on the future of former head coach Stiegler, who spent the last eight seasons at UCF.
