2005 Conference USA Football Awards
Conference USA's 2005 football awards were announced on November 30th, 2005 by the league office. Below are the recipients of the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year and Freshman Player of the Year.
C-USA Offensive Player of the Year: DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis
C-USA Defensive Player of the Year: Kevis Coley, LB, Southern Miss
C-USA Special Teams Player of the Year: Stephen Gostkowski, PK, Memphis
C-USA Freshman of the Year: Kevin Smith, RB, Central Florida (UCF)
C-USA Coach of the Year: George O'Leary, Central Florida (UCF)
Congratulations to Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams as he was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year for the 3rd consecutive season and Southern Miss LB Kevis Coley was named Defensive Player of the Year for the 3rd consecutive season as well.
