The Golden Knights will be traveling to Houston to play the first of two contests against the Cougars this season. The Cougars enter the game at 7-9 (2-2) while the Golden Knights are an impressive 14-4 overall and 3-1 in CUSA.

The Cougars are led by Rob McKiver with 19.1 points per game while UCF is led by Jermaine Taylor with 14.8.

This is an important game for both teams, but for different reasons. The Cougars need a win just to keep up with the conference-leading Memphis Tigers.  As for the Knights, these next two away games will help establish them as a team to be reckoned with in the Conference USA.  The Knights are in just their second year in the league, but are already flexing their muscles.

The Knights keys to victory will be to keep the Cougars from hitting shots from beyond the arc. It seems as if the Cougars live and die from long range. Also, they need to keep UH from getting second chance points. The Knights did not do a good job on the boards against Rice, and they will need to improve if they hope to stand a chance against UH. Lastly, the Knights will need a big day from Jermaine Taylor, Josh Peppers, and Mike O'Donnell. 

The Knights will need to play a much more organized game then they played on Saturday against Rice; however, if they excel in these facets of the game and keep the Cougars' crowd quiet, they should improve their record to 4-1 in the conference and gain some momentum as they head to El Paso on Saturday to tangle with UTEP.
